Mastercard chief marketing and communications officer Raja Rajamannar is stepping down, passing the baton to Accenture’s Jill Kramer, effective December 1.
Kramer will report to the payments company’s CEO, Michael Miebach, a Mastercard spokesperson said. Kramer and Rajamannar declined to be interviewed.
Rajamannar, who has worked in the role for 12 years, wrote on LinkedIn that he will “continue to stay close to the craft I love—and to all of you—in my new capacity as Mastercard senior fellow.”
He added that Kramer “brings remarkable experience” to Mastercard from her time as Accenture’s chief marketing and comms officer.
Kramer (pictured below; image via Mastercard). has worked at Accenture since 2016, when she joined as the MD of the global brand. She took on her current role at Accenture in 2021, according to her LinkedIn account. As CMCO, she led a global, integrated and tech-driven function that “drives brand relevance, market differentiation and business growth across industries and geographies,” according to a Mastercard statement.

During her nearly 10 years at Accenture, Kramer’s leadership helped the company increase its brand value from $12 billion to $20.9 billion, according to Interbrand’s Best Global Brands annual ranking.
An Accenture spokesperson was not available for comment on Kramer’s replacement.
Before joining Accenture, Kramer was EVP and senior director at BBDO.
In Q2, Mastercard posted a profit of $3.7 billion, compared with $3.3 billion in the same quarter a year earlier. Revenue rose 17% year-over-year to $8.1 billion in the quarter.
