Throughout Q3, Interpublic Group saw a 5.1% YoY decrease in revenue, but also an increase in profit.

This was the result of a planned reduction in workforce of around 800 employees and vacated office spaces of around 135,000 square feet during the three months ended September 30, 2025 (Q3).

According to the earnings report, client growth was led by the food and beverage, healthcare, financial services, and technology and telecom sectors. In late September, IPG was selected as the global agency partner (creative, production and media) for Bayer’s Consumer Health division.

The report also stated that the revenue decrease was the result of both client losses in the holding company’s retail and auto and transportation sectors, and decreased spending from existing clients.
In Q3 2025, IPG reported consolidated organic revenue down 2.9% YoY from 2024, primarily due to net client losses in retail, and auto and transportation sectors.

The 1.5% organic decrease in the domestic market was primarily due to revenue decreases in IPG’s sports marketing business, advertising businesses, digital project-based offerings and data management and analytics.

In other markets, IPG saw an organic decrease in revenue across the board: 8.3% in the UK; 4.2% in Continental Europe; 6.0% in Asia Pacific; and 12.9% in Latin America. The dip was partially offset by revenue increases in the advertising businesses in IPG’s Other region, led by the Middle East.

In Omnicom’s Q3 earnings call, the holding company said that its acquisition of IPG should be completed by the end of this month, after the deal is reviewed by the European Union. The approval of the acquisition has already been given by the US, UK and Mexico.

John Wren, CEO, Omnicom, said that the holding company is currently planning to outline its post-merger structure and portfolio the week of CES in January 2026.
